I have no reason why this happened but after installing a slew of updates on my Centos 7 Web Server some of the firewall settings I had allowing forwarding of ports for my web server were closed. For some reason my default routes were pointing to the wrong network interfaces after the reboot as well. I didn’t notice sine I had turned off my audible notifications plus my workstations in my office displayed my sites just fine.
When I went for my workout at the gym today I noticed my stream was working from my music server but I couldn’t get my site up though to see what was coming up next on my station. Then O looked at my text messages and saw the notice that http was down.
When home from the gym checked my httpd process that was up then made sure my router was forwarding and then checked my firewall and http/https were not open! Fixed that restarted httpd and still no love for my web site. rechecked everything and then peeked at the routing table and the deafult route was pointing at the wrong interface so I fixed that in the script files taking default route definition out of the secondary interface and restarted network then httpd and presto everything works!
Never had a patch update no matter how big do that but stuff happens, plus I did see a few inconsistencies in hosts file. All working now and back to the rest of my Saturday!

I was updating the OS on my server that runs quite a few processes and one of the processes was the Icecast stream I tunnel the stream through that is not on the same server as my Shoutcast or audio library. I didn’t realize this until I was headed to bed tonight and wanted to listen over Icecast to my music stream.
Well downloaded and configured the stream made sure firewall let proper ports through, matched up usernames and passwords and I’m back to streaming over Icecast!
Hit my first gym work out of the day earlier and of course that was my first real set of songs that I laid out prior to hitting that morning work out but this is a continuation of that set since I just added more songs in the queue.
The way my music stream works is that I have some scripts that pick random songs I have weighted out of certain buckets of music. I drop in frequently from anywhere I may be in the world and at times setup a certain selection of music. I don’t always announce when I setup a special set of music but other times I do like now!
I just updated certain elements on the backside of the site and want to see how they work and I wanted to write a song about it, but I don’t do that. I’m going to play songs that play to those feelings somewhat and let you listen in while I see how things respond on the site.
I’ll start Knee Deep in some Funkadelic sounds, some Cool- C, even something new with Rihanna, but lot’s of old school tonight like The Dazz Band and more than a sprinkling on most nights.

We are on the upswing here in the northern hemisphere with the days gradually getting a bit longer so I’m going to mix it up to supply some energy in the daylight hours to workout in the gym, around the house or just kicking back. Then I’ll slip into a slow set for a couple of hours and then back to the 24/7 script maybe.
