Back Streaming Sounds Fine More Tuning to Come
Well back up and running again streaming music from my new W2019 server on my bl460c gen 7 c7000 blade which has a healthy 32gb of RAM and 10gbe infrastructure internally until it hits my router going out to the world then my speed is just 1gb to all of you.. I moved to having ShoutCast 2.5.1 on my new Centos 8 Linux server run with systemd, with the latest IceCast relays 2.4.4 running on that server as well which I already runs under systemd since IceCast is in the Linux repositories.
The reason I now have ShoutCast running on Linux at this time is I ran into a surprise trying to go to the latest version of ShoutCast 2.6.0 running from my Windows server as I have for years. My 192kbps and 320kbps kept getting the errors about the stream having network issues and in the Windows event logs saying “Frame settings changed could cause playback problems..”. The 128kbps and 64kbps ShoutCast encoders were playing fine and so were the IceCast encoders and relays. All ShoutCast relays played over the same ShoutCast instance so that error was especially strange.
After digging around on various forums I found on Winamp\Shoutcast that Shoutcast the company had indeed disabled the bit rates above 128kbps in the Shoutcast server software unless you were using their streaming services! Well a huge part of this is to learn and keep my skills up by doing things myself and I don’t want or need to use others streaming services. I’ll give specific steps I took later as its time to hit the bed.
Looks like I need to also get paths straight to where some of my music resides as I had 2 separate drives on the other server with music. I’ll be doing some tuning up on issues like that along with picture files plus more of the background items I performed.

Rolling Over to New Streaming Server
Time to officially roll over to my new W2019 streaming server from my W2012-r2 streaming server. I need to copy the current MariaDB database, to the new system, point ports in firewall to new systems, make sure those ports are opened locally as well. I am also pointing the IceCast relays to a new Linux Centos 8 server that doubles as my Zoneminder CCTV system and one of my Plex Media servers.

Busting This Stay Home Isolation With Beats
Busting out beats from while doing a slew changes to my infrastructure I can finally do after getting most of the parts and getting things tested. Changes to my server infrastructure were delayed by this covid-19 stuff an taking care of some personal issues I’m still handling after my parents passed . I’ll talk about changes I made here but mostly @ https://dhoytt.com/mainblog/ .
Anyhow I’m already deep into this beat session having already played artist like, Ghostface Killah, Usher, Beastie Boys, Doja, Lil Yachty, LSD. I’m looking at artists like Will Smith, Mya, Public Enemy, Thundercat, DJ Khaled and some slow sounds with people like John Legend, Melanie Fiona, and so many more will mix in and out to match songs.

Dhoytt Entire Site Update of Software and OS
I updated to the latest WordPress version 5.5.1 and updated all of my themes and plugins then decided to update the Centos 7 Linux OS patches of this virtual system as well. I also took care of some pesky ssl issues that had mixed ssl and non-ssl objects so that the site is more compliant and friendly to visitors. Now you will see the padlock indicating my site is safe. I updated the certificate and did the .htaccess ssl redirects over the weekend Saturday around noon.

Storing Tomatoes for Future
I haven’t always taken advantage of proper storage of my garden produce. Well now I am finally using my FoodSaver and planning on using my dehydrator both purchased years ago but never used.
Over the weekend I cleaned up the dehydrator and took the FoodSaver vacuum packing storage system out of the box?
The following are my first time blanching and getting items ready in long term vacuum packed storage.

Busy Sunday
Started Sunday staying up late Saturday into Sunday morning getting staged for preserving my garden vegetables and herbs. Then upon waking up my website was down so had to troubleshoot that by looking in the logs and it was an entry in the ssl logs as I had started making ssl updates and changes yesterday.
Due to the website issues I then got a late start on prepping my brisket I set to thaw in the refrigerator and then cleaning the ash off my grills. Then cleaned the Traeger grill and prepped the grill and got the brisket on. I then got my front lawn in order since the lawn service kept canceling and would not be by until September 10th.
I like doing my own lawn but when going for long periods traveling I need someone and I don’t want to find someone last minute. I used Sunday to get my rose bushes trimmed the way I normally have them the past 14 years so when the lawn service takes back over they understand better what I have said before. A demonstration shows so much better than words many times. The lawn service has been decent just need to show them how I wanted things done.
Then I fast smoked the brisket in about 8 or 9 hours instead of 15 hours and turned out tender to a fault as it was almost pulled beef. I also threw some beef ribs on since they had thawed out. The beef ribs meat was super tender fall off the bone tender too.
I had the ribs with dinner and a few pieces late of the brisket
Here’s the visuals including my grits breakfast.

Big Garden Harvest and Nice Vegetable Casserole
Picked more vegetables from the garden then feasted on an eggplant, squash, tomatoes casserole. I also threw in a bunch of basil from the garden along with garlic, a little pepper and salt, mixed with Parmesan cheese and olive oil.
Here’s pictures of the harvest and casserole.

Back Streaming and Road Map for Music Server
I have been back up and streaming for over 25 minutes and everything looks good. I have also been redoing my entire infrastructure which of course means the music streaming server will be updated and switched over.
Currently I have updated the Snakeice House of Beats system to W2019 Data Center 16 core including moving database and music over to the system. It will be running in a HPE C7000 blade chassis on a Bl460c gen 7 blade with 32GB RAM and dual X5650 Xeon CPU’s @ 2.67GHz 6 cores each CPU. I went with the MariaDB this time my first time using MariaDB the MySQL Open Source fork in Windows.
Everything is set for that system and ready to take over as soon as I finalize my networking back end on my chassis and computer room which now has everything locally at 10GBe and create the relays for ShoutCast and IceCast.
Eventually I will virtualize this music server when I finish getting my new storage backup in place and all data replicated an working between my current and new FreeNAS systems which I’m also updating along with 2 new XCP-ng Hyper-Visors I have configured on 2 x Bl460 Gen8 systems with 128GB RAM. dual Xeon E5-2860 v2 10 core CPU’s, running on 10GBE fabric. A lot happening and I will of course be doing more updates on http://dhoytt.com/mainblog/ .
