XCP-ng Updated to Version 8.1

XCP-ng Updated to Version 8.1

Finally updated XCP-ng to 8.1 from 7.6 via local iso burned to a CD and it seems fine so far though it’s only just booted up.

I have a lot going on currently so hope to get back and test the functions more later. Right now just making sure my virual XCP-ng enviornment and VM’s are solid. I also downloaded the latest version of XCP-ng Center 20.03.01 and did a quick deploy of the new XOA.

For Snakeice’s House of Beats this took down my IceCast relays as the virtual system I have lives in my XCP-ng enviornment.

Will post more on XCP-ng later hopefully.

Updated Memory on Streaming Server

I upped the RAM on my system that streams out the music as it had been topping out with my updated virus scanning software at 98%. I basically tripled the memory from 8gb RAM to 24gb RAM which also should do better handling more streams as well. I may increase more but we shall see. That was the only resource being consumed totally and now its at 11% usage where it was 89% and above before. CPU usage and network resources are still strong it was only memory that was the issue.

a The memory would have been very quick fix normally but my existing rails don’t quite fit my new servers I have gotten recently and I haven’t had time to do any custom adaptations and the systems were stacked on each other. My music streaming software that needed the memory was of course at the bottom of the stack so I ended up taking down my entire site so I wouldn’t cause data corruption or a huge outage I wouldn’t be able to take care of very easily.

Now memory update is done and more to come as I get mys environment updated some more!

Updating Streaming Server OS and Application

That time again to update the W2012 r2 server OS with the latest security patches and also SAM from Spacial Audio to the latest version. Will not be streaming for a bit then I will also tackle updating WordPress to its latest version and the Centos 7 Linux OS I am running the web server on. I am also updating the system that runs the IceCast stream relays which is another Centos 7 system

Upgrades Galore

Tonight I updated the OS of my workstations, virtual servers,  physical servers, streaming software SAM Broadcasting from Spacial Audio and WordPress. My I started with my workstations and then my virtual servers including my Centos 7 web server that I run my blog on.

Then moved on to update my streaming media server which is W2012 R2. Right after that I updated my SAM Broadcaster software and my WordPress blogging\CMS software.

With SAM Broadcaster I also verified all my songs, backed up my database.
