Rolling Over to New Streaming Server

Time to officially roll over to my new W2019 streaming server from my W2012-r2 streaming server. I need to copy the current MariaDB database, to the new system, point ports in firewall to new systems, make sure those ports are opened locally as well. I am also pointing the IceCast relays to a new Linux Centos 8 server that doubles as my Zoneminder CCTV system and one of my Plex Media servers.

Doing OS Updates of Streaming Server

Doing some basic Windows 2012-r2 updates of the streaming server. Taking a bit longer than necessary as I took my eyes off of it and it had hung. Will be up and streaming momentarily. The streaming server is Windows 2012-r2 and the web server is currently running Centos 7 with relays of IceCast on the Linux server and ShoutCast relays on the Windows server.

Updating Streaming Server OS and Application

That time again to update the W2012 r2 server OS with the latest security patches and also SAM from Spacial Audio to the latest version. Will not be streaming for a bit then I will also tackle updating WordPress to its latest version and the Centos 7 Linux OS I am running the web server on. I am also updating the system that runs the IceCast stream relays which is another Centos 7 system

Upgrades Galore

Tonight I updated the OS of my workstations, virtual servers,  physical servers, streaming software SAM Broadcasting from Spacial Audio and WordPress. My I started with my workstations and then my virtual servers including my Centos 7 web server that I run my blog on.

Then moved on to update my streaming media server which is W2012 R2. Right after that I updated my SAM Broadcaster software and my WordPress blogging\CMS software.

With SAM Broadcaster I also verified all my songs, backed up my database.

Music Server Back Streaming Music after Updates

Well what just started off as a W2012 r2 security patch update ending up being a bit more. I ended up updating not only the server where I process the music, run the streaming application with it’s database and ShoutCast relays but also my IceCast relay which is Centos 7. When I saw the new kernel I also did a quick and dirty update on my Centos 7 web server I have virtualizized on XenServer since it was a quick update for a virtual system.

As I brought up the SAM broadcasting software I use to stream the data I noticed there as a new version and I took a leap of faith and updated that as well since it had improvements with how it interacted with my MySQL database.

In short form back up and streaming ahead at full speed on the “Snakeice House of Beats” Ship streaming service!

System Maintenance Reboot to Install Security Patches

Apologies for the brief music stream interruption but installing some security updates on the w2012 r2 streaming server and will be back in a few minutes. My Centos 7 web server will be up still.

I decided to update my Centos 7  monitoring server that also acts as IceCast relay since the streaming server will be down. This  monitoring /IceCast relay server is also a separate server from the web server ans streaming music server. My ShoutCast streams are run from the W2012 r2 server.

Rebooting Streaming Server After Updates Back in a Bit

Update the OS that has the streaming server so there will be a slight break in the music stream though the website will be up while I reboot my server I stream the music from.

As an update on this I also updated the streaming application I use SAM Broadcaster to the latest version and my IceCast relay server system which is of course another separate system. The streaming server is W2012 r2 and the IceCast server is running Linux Centos 7 as is my web server. I stream to ShoutCast from my windows 2012 R2 streaming server that has SAM Broadcaster on it.
