Moving my music streaming relays of IceCast and ShoutCast to a new server that’s dedicated and virtual. I was always planning on making this move but some memory leaks by another program has made it more critical. This is always my goal to make operations more modular. I can also clone this virtuals system for a backup very easily. I still need to point my firewall to the appropriate system and ports along with my streaming application so there will be a moment of no streaming music. I’ll post after all is up and running again.
Updated Site and Shoutcast Streams
Well today I updated the Shoutcast streams and saw that a new version of WordPress was available I updated that as well. Besides updating to the latest stream software for Shoutcast I also did away with the 160kbps stream and made that a 192kbps stream to as I noticed Shoutcast searches on Radionomy do not visibly have a search for 160kbps or other custom stream bit rates.
All music and servers I host, build and maintain from my home data center.
You can click on one of the players I built into my website or click on one of the links below or copy into your favorite music streaming application:

Icecast Stream Back Online
I was updating the OS on my server that runs quite a few processes and one of the processes was the Icecast stream I tunnel the stream through that is not on the same server as my Shoutcast or audio library. I didn’t realize this until I was headed to bed tonight and wanted to listen over Icecast to my music stream.
Well downloaded and configured the stream made sure firewall let proper ports through, matched up usernames and passwords and I’m back to streaming over Icecast!

I have made the appropriate link changes to my site pages to
correspond to these changes. I also performed updates needed to the stream hash
going back to Shoutcast.
I also updated the music stream software to hopefully prevent the infrequent times when two songs try to play at once, so I will be keeping a tight watch on the music play the next few days.
