In the garden on the other<br \/>\ncorner in backyard I tilled around the existing sage, thyme, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Parsley\" title=\"Parsley\" rel=\"wikipedia\">parsley<\/a>,<br \/>\nchives &amp; strawberries that stayed over the winter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">To compliment my existing herbs I<br \/>\nplanted, basil (didn&#8217;t last over winter), mint &amp; more chives, &amp;<br \/>\ngreen  <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Onion\" title=\"Onion\" rel=\"wikipedia\">onions<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">I planted Roma, Big Boy, &amp; Yellow<br \/>\npear <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tomato\" title=\"Tomato\" rel=\"wikipedia\">tomato<\/a> plants. I also planted eggplant, hot jalapeno, Serrano,<br \/>\nbanana, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chili_pepper\" title=\"Chili pepper\" rel=\"wikipedia\">red chili<\/a> &amp; three kinds of <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bell_pepper\" title=\"Bell pepper\" rel=\"wikipedia\">bell peppers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">For the root type vegetables I planted<br \/>\nred <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Potato\" title=\"Potato\" rel=\"wikipedia\">potatoes<\/a>, garlic, &amp; red onion.\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">I also planted watermelon, zucchini<br \/>\nsquash, mammoth sunflowers, sweet corn, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chard\" title=\"Chard\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Swiss chard<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Collard_greens\" title=\"Collard greens\" rel=\"wikipedia\">collard greens<\/a>,<br \/>\nand mustard greens. Today I got some celery, cilantro &amp; summer<br \/>\nsquash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">I almost forgot I also planted last<br \/>\nweek some peas, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Green_bean\" title=\"Green bean\" rel=\"wikipedia\">green beans<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Black-eyed_pea\" title=\"Black-eyed pea\" rel=\"wikipedia\">black-eyed peas<\/a> (cow peas), a grape vine<br \/>\n&amp; another blueberry bush.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">I still have a raspberry vine &amp;<br \/>\nwhat I believe is a blueberry plant from last  year that  survived<br \/>\nthe artichoke bush from last year. Reminds me I also planted some<br \/>\nasparagus I hope is out of the way. Last year the asparagus, grapes<br \/>\nraspberries, greens, Swiss chard and other veggies were over run by<br \/>\nthe artichoke bush.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">Last week I also made repairs and<br \/>\nchanges to the drip\/watering system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">Today I also pulled up about 5 bags of<br \/>\nweeds from the small corridor between homes I have as well as cut the<br \/>\ngrass and edged with the weed eater and pressure washed the patio and<br \/>\nsidewalks in the backyard around the pool. Now I have the pool pumps<br \/>\ngoing to get the dirt that inadvertently got in the pool from<br \/>\npressure washing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">All in all it was a long but productive day!\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">Tomorrow the finishing touches and time<br \/>\nto hall off some  trash perhaps. Ah yes I also got some ground cover<br \/>\nflowers to go between my roses up front called &#8220;verbien tapien<br \/>\nblue-violet&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">Pictures later perhaps.
