This evening I\u2019m getting some strange power issues and
\nhaving UPS <\/b>on my systems have limited any issues. Normally with these
\ntypes of power fluctuations I would need to reboot and re-sync my systems but
\nnot today.<\/p>\n
I went to take a shower on my way out to get a bite to eat
\nand all of the sudden I was in darkness. Well my UPS<\/b> have kept all of my
\nsystems up and running during these sporadic power fluctuations this evening
\nwithout an issue.<\/p>\n
I have had several issues with the wiring of this house
\nwhich prompted me to go out to a local surplus store and purchase some heavy
\nduty UPS<\/b>. I was also able to come up on some UPS at some government
\nauctions where they were bidding off surplus equipment.<\/p>\n
The UPS <\/b>I have you normally don\u2019t see in a home
\nenvironment even one that has all of the equipment that I have!<\/p>\n
I have 2 \u201cAPC Smart UPS 2200\u201d<\/b> and a rack mountable
\n\u201cCompaq R3000 XR\u201d<\/b>. I have the \u201cAPC 2200\u2019s\u201d <\/b>on \u201cPC skates\u201d <\/b>
\nout on the floor and the \u201cCompaq R3000 XR\u201d<\/b> in one of my racks with my
\nWeb, Music, Windows and Linux servers and my routers and switches. I use the
\n\u201cAPC 2200\u2019s\u201d<\/b> for my floor main systems and one switch.<\/p>\n
I also have an \u201cHP Powerwise 1000\u201d<\/b> and an \u201cAPC
\n800 RT\u201d<\/b> that I\u2019m not using at this point. I intend to use the UPS I\u2019m not
\nusing on my entertainment equipment and will probably move on of my \u201cAPC
\nSmart UPS 2200\u201d<\/b> into another room to use with some of my audio or video
\nequipment as well.<\/p>\n
For the very small price I paid since they were surplus and
\nauction pickups for less than 5% – 15% of normal cost they do excellent work.
\nEven when UPS are not keeping equipment up from a power outage they also filter
\nthe power and knock down surges and spikes so they are well worth the investment
\nto protect your valuable computer systems presently and in the future when you
\nare going to purchase new equipment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
