{"id":119,"date":"2005-02-24T00:22:29","date_gmt":"2005-02-24T00:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dhoytt.com\/mainblog\/2005\/02\/24\/hitting-the-weights-in-the-gar\/"},"modified":"2005-02-24T00:22:29","modified_gmt":"2005-02-24T00:22:29","slug":"hitting-the-weights-in-the-gar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dhoytt.com\/mainblog\/2005\/02\/hitting-the-weights-in-the-gar\/","title":{"rendered":"Hitting The Weights In The Garage&#8230;.Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once again as I moved items out of the house into the garage and then out of<br \/>\nthe garage I cleared up enough space to get my weight&#8217;s out in position so I can<br \/>\ngo from station to station and get my weight lifting routine in.<\/p>\n<p>I usually hit my legs first doing<b> &quot;leg curls&quot;<\/b> alternating with <b>&quot;leg<br \/>\npress&quot; <\/b>on my leg press machine. I then hit my <b>&quot;leg extensions&quot;<\/b> for my<br \/>\nquads alternated with<b> &quot;seated toe raises&quot;<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Then I hit the upper body doing the &quot;<b>bench press&quot;<\/b> alternated with <b><br \/>\n&quot;stomach crunches&quot;<\/b> on my <b>&quot;roman chair&quot;<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>From there it alternates in order but I always get in the following:<br \/>\n&#8211; <b>Pull downs<\/b> for triceps<br \/>\n&#8211; <b>Military Press <\/b>for shoulders<br \/>\n&#8211; <b>Dumbbell fly&#8217;s <\/b>for the chest<br \/>\n&#8211; <b>Curls<\/b><br \/>\n&#8211; 30 minutes of hitting the <b>stationary bike<\/b> and I don&#8217;t mean slowly<br \/>\ncruising!<\/p>\n<p>Because I got a late start I didn&#8217;t hit the bike tonight. I had to set my<br \/>\nweights back up the way I like them so there was a lot of adjusting going on I<br \/>\nwill not have to do the next time.<\/p>\n<p>The reason I hit lower body and upper body on the same day is because on the<br \/>\ndays I don&#8217;t hit the weights I really hit <b>cardiovascular<\/b> really hard.<br \/>\nThis is how I have always worked out and it really is good for <b>strength,<\/b><br \/>\n<b>stamina<\/b> and <b>endurance<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p>Plus you really get good quick results if you can stand the initial hit your<br \/>\nbody feels for 2 -3 weeks and tough it out! You have to eat well and at the<br \/>\nright times of the days when doing this at least 75% of the time. I know this<br \/>\nand still have a hard time because when hitting the runs I go on your legs feel<br \/>\nlike lead and its a real fight making the last part of a 5 &#8211; 7 mile run or<br \/>\nfinishing off a late night work out during those second and third weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Later I mix some other exercises in when I hit a certain level and on the<br \/>\ndays I do cardio I also do <b>push-ups <\/b>and <b>stomach crunches <\/b>right<br \/>\nafter the<b> run<\/b>.
